Hey Herry, thank you very much for the interview. We are feeling great. Last weekend we celebrated the release with a show near our hometown and we met lots of old and new friends. „Elements of Instability was released August 28th, but we scheduled the release show a month later.
" Elements of Instability " has initiated a new run of FUCK YOU AND DIE I think. The bookings running good, right? How are you!
We will play three more shows this year. One with Dying Fetus in Belgium, we are really excited about that, the Euroblast festival in Cologne where we share the stage with Animals as Leaders and more great bands and a cosy club show in southwest Germany with Bitterness Exhumed, Cardiac and The Black Passage. Next year we want to play more shows, worldwide.
We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule promoting your new album and rehearsing for your tour to take some time out to answer some questions for your fans. What's going on in the FUCK YOU AND DIE camp these days? Any "sensational and Nice" latest news?
There are good news, we are really happy how the release went down and how the support grew. We had pre orders from more than ten countries. We spent some time in the rehearsal room to get the songs ready for the live shows. There are no real sensations since we are aware oft he effort it takes to take our band to the next level. But being in Fuck You And Die always meant a lot of work and always appreciating every second of it. We always do what we want to do, independent and motivated. The small sensation ist hat we run our own label now. It is called ASTAT entertainment. Please check it out, we have some great releases already.
Now tell us about the concept and story behind this masterpiece. The Cool story behind " Elements of Instability ". The story is cool and I mentioned several influences in my review.
The most important part oft he story for us ist hat we did the recording on our own in our guitar player´s studio – the ASTAT studios. We had enough time to schedule everything concerning the recording process. We struggeled a little with the release itself, which also made us found our own label, to be in control of every step in the process.
The concept of band music is still an influence Main Band of before, Der Weg einer Freiheit? and how do you call the concept of Music for FUCK YOU AND DIE ? Any More " Progressive/Melodic " There?
We share three members with DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT – musically we are influenced by them, but just in small parts. We see FUCK YOU AND DIE as a death metal band. Our first album had some grindcore and hardcore in it, ELEMENTS OF INSTABILITY is more of a tech death record – both albums had their black metal parts. We dont know yet what happens next.
I wonder how's the interest from the underground Metal media so far? How did the reviews turn out? How many interviews have you answered and how's the response for " Elements of Instability " from the media and the fans up to now? How long did you orgasm last when the new album was released?
The reviews turned out great. We did not do a lot of interviews although we are really happy about people wanting to know more about FUCK YOU AND DIE. The orgasm still lasts. The response is very satisfying. We heard some great comparisons which mostly honor us. Every one has a different interpretation of our sound and songs, but if we are mentioned with bands like Vital Remains and Necrophagist we are really happy.
An excellent album that should be heard. If you really consider yourself a metalhead, give this band a try. and how the process of making this new material? whether all members are involved in every writing music?
We are all involved, but with Tobias Schuler as a musical brain extraordinaire we feel really blessed by the metalgods, but dont tell him that i said that. In the end everybody in FUCK YOU AND DIE has to be happy with the material and we all respect each other´s thoughts and skills. It´s about the teamwork. We write a lot of music with Guitar Pro, always exchanging ideas, sharing in our dropbox and talking it through.
To you, what distinguishes this release with the material you before? what if this is for you a blast form the mature concept from material before like First CD " Veni Vici " ?
We got better playing our instruments and put more time into writing the songs – that´s it. It definitely became more technical and structured. But first of all, we wrote longer songs.
What is the special thing with FUCK YOU AND DIE? The guitar must be always Excellent? Bass guitar and drums are allowed to be more progressive? Or is it much more? How much guitar overdubbing and harmonization do you do in the studio? Is layering a necessity for the FUCK YOU AND DIE formula to work properly?
I think we did not overdub more than every other band or maybe even less. Since we had no time pressure we took the time to work as long as we needed to. Progression is never intended, this is our style of writing, we just want to like our own riffs. We record as many takes possible to get the result we want, there is no harmonization in our recording process. Talking about the layers, we have more layers in some solo parts, but who doesn´t?
The musical approach is certainly ever-changing and pleasingly different. However, I hope you don't mind me saying, your Concept approach on this album is little or Changed than before. aren't always exactly what you'd expect. What was the motivation behind approaching the Changed in such an unusual manner?
Like i said before, i dont think it´s unusual. We got better playing our instruments and it was a natural process. And the process took some years from the beginning until the finished album. The motivation always is creating music we love.
I'm Very Surprise with Awesome Sound Production for this album, what Is this already a Trademark for FUCK YOU AND DIE established itself from the beginning? and how FUCK YOU AND DIE still able to maintain all of this until now? What band equipment use while recording process this material ??
We try to sound as good as possible. Glad that you like it. It was always a goal from the beginning, of course. We use Ibanez guitars and work with Cubase. We play ENGL and Tobias our drummer uses Tama.
FUCK YOU AND DIE is dedicated to the destruction and recreation of the current death metal paradigm, and a return the true spirit of the Evolution brought to light by the vision quests of its progenitors. Please tell something about the lyrics and what they deal with? FUCK YOU AND DIE Wrote the lyrics to the concept of Abstract and Society meaning, so it will take a pleasure for the listener to be able to digest their meaning. exactly what you wrote all the lyrics on this matter? How With " Elements of Instability " mean?
The lyrics really are abstract at some point, but i guess if you have the whole picture of every song on „Elements of Instability“. Thank you fort he comparison with the oldschool bands. We write about the things that happen around us and piss us off. We digest bad experiences and feelings. We feel a relief after playing death metal songs. For example the song „Roar Allay and Alter“ is a request to destroy the current, re-arrange and create something new, something better. We need to destroy things that harm us.
A question I like to ask a lot on musicians that follow the underground, is the question on downloading. What would your reaction be if someone told you that he downloaded both your albums and thought they were awesome, and what to someone that told you he bought the albums and thought they were shit?
We always appreciate people having interest in our band. If somebody cares that´s good. And we really hope that people think our music is shit for some part, because the music that everybody likes is mostly the least dangerous, the least forward thinking, the most boring music. So we already know that people are out there that just dont like our music and if they are stupid enough to buy music that is availyble for free and still think it´s shit, then it´s funny.
