EMBLAZONED Interview (USA)

The band’s latest MCD The Living Magisterium is a streamlined non predictable effort immersed in mid 90’s Death Metal structure that will sear into the listeners subconscious. Meticulously balancing the cacophonic propulsive time signatures of Black Metal with atmospheric mood to create a memorable yet malefic statement of brutality. Lyrically thought provoking by challenging traditional religious dogma to legitimize itself in the modern day era. Defiant and rebellious without gimmicks or succumbing to the devices employed by so many other bands today. Dedicated to producing music with integrity Emblazoned is the tip of the spear piercing into all that choose to demand rather than to earn the moniker of true underground metal.

Hi there guys, thanks for showing interest in answering this interview. How are you? Anything important to start with?

Kevin : We are great the new album just came out this week and so far all the feedback is very positive!  We are very happy to have it released we spent a lot of time and worked hard on the material.

" Eucharistiae Sacramentum " has initiated a new run of EMBLAZONED I think. The bookings running good, right? How are you!
Kevin : So far the shows we have played to support our releases have been great.  We have mainly stuck to the mid west part of the USA because its very costly to go on tour.  We hope to branch out to other parts of the country soon.

We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule promoting your new album and rehearsing for your tour to take some time out to answer some questions for your fans. What's going on in the EMBLAZONED camp these days? Any "sensational and Nice" latest news?
Kevin : No problem we really appreciate people like you that support the music with web zines and other outlets.  Currently we are already writing the next album and we are over half way done!  Once the promotion and tour cycle is done for the current album we will be able to record the next one right away because we are already doing the pre-production work.

Now tell us about the concept and story behind this masterpiece. The Cool story behind " Eucharistiae Sacramentum ". The story is cool and I mentioned several influences in my review.
Kevin : The story is really about good vs. evil or overcoming adversity.  Religion can be seen as the adversity or the evil but it would be up to the listener to come to that conclusion.  The imagery of the band we try to leave it up to the listener to decide if the theme is good or evil / positive or negative.  So whatever the listen feels comes from with in themselves not from us telling them they should feel a that way.  If you have evil in your heart you will feel the albums speaks evil to you.  Overall that is the goal to have the album speak to what you feel inside.

I wonder how's the interest from the underground Metal media so far? How did the reviews turn out? How many interviews have you answered and how's the response for " Eucharistiae Sacramentum " from the media and the fans up to now? How long did you orgasm last when the new album was released?
Kevin : So far the response has been very positive from the metal media.  I have a few interviews (not including this one!) to complete and send back.  I try to get them all done with in a day or so of getting them so you guys have time to edit them for your web site or magazine.  Something that I noticed that is new to me a few have asked me to record a video of myself answering the questions and send that back.  That is new to me - is a cool idea but I'm ugly and don't want to subject you guys to my ugly mug!  We were all very happy when the album was released because we had it done since November of 2013.

whether Deepsend Records has become the Last choice of the current band will release "Eucharistiae Sacramentum"?

Kevin : Deepsend has been doing a great job with this album so far and the EP that we released with them before this album.  I really like what we have going on with them very easy to work with and professinal.

Meticulously balancing the cacophonic propulsive time signatures of Black Metal with atmospheric mood to create a memorable yet malefic statement of brutality. An Evil Awesome album that should be heard. If you really consider yourself a metalhead, give this band a try. and how the process of making this new material? whether all members are involved in every writing music? and Good Jobz for Kevin Forsythe !

Kevin : The writting is a true group effort.  We all come up with ideas for riffs or lyric parts.  Primarliy A.J. or myself will come up with the base of the riff and we will change it around as a group to become what you would hear on the album.  We try to make the changes in the songs flow into each other or make the change fell sudden or out of place on purpose...well we hope it sounds that way ha ha!  All the guys in the band are accomplished and because of their understanding on how to record we work very well and effecient together.

What is the special thing with EMBLAZONED? The guitar must be always Fastest? Bass guitar and drums are allowed to be more progressive? Or is it much more? How much guitar overdubbing and harmonization do you do in the studio? Is layering a necessity for the EMBLAZONED formula to work properly?
Kevin : When I record the music I dont really use a ton of tracks or overdumbs.  We try to keep the sound of all the instruments as real as possible and not sound like a drum machine or an over edited computerized album.  A lot of bands have a mathmaticly perfect sounding album then you go to see them live and the reality is they play sloppy.  To me if feels like you are being lied to so we try to keep our sound as honest and real as possible.  Of course we are not going to nail every take each time perfect and we will punch mistakes out but overall we wanted to have a real mix with a real sound.  Some of the newer / younger bands have obvious computerized drums and guitars.  They are all starting to sound the same and to me that is not very interesting.

The musical approach is certainly ever-changing and pleasingly different. However, I hope you don't mind me saying, your Concept approach on this album is little or Changed than before. aren't always exactly what you'd expect. What was the motivation behind approaching the Changed in such an unusual manner?
Kevin : We plan to change our theme or concept on every album.  The next album will be diffrent from this one as well.  We like to change things up because it makes you interested in checking out the album.  It will also add contrast to the bands history.  I understand that some people might not want you to change and want to have the same album delivered to them over and over but we would get brunt out doing that.  Chaning the bands sound or album concept will keep us intrested and excited to keep going forward and we hope the poeople that follow us will feel the same way.

Sound Production for this album, what Is this already a Trademark for EMBLAZONED established itself from the beginning? and how EMBLAZONED still able to maintain all of this until now? If How Compare With EP " A Ceremony of Hellfire " and " The Living Magisterium ", This is a significant advance in the form of musicality the band More Dark and Evil Taste?
Kevin : We were going for a more dirty or angry sounding guitar mix.  The preivous EP the guitars sounded more Swedish than dirty and mean but I felt it was close to what we were going for at the time.  I really like the latest album's sound that was what I was trying to get for the sound of the EP.  All the music that was recored before "The Living Magisterium" was recorded with a drum machine. The early stuff I recorded everything it was a one man band.  So by keeping the new material sounding real it should help contrast the early releases because this is now a full band.

A question I like to ask a lot on musicians that follow the underground, is the question on downloading. What would your reaction be if someone told you that he downloaded both your albums and thought they were awesome, and what to someone that told you he bought the albums and thought they were shit?
Kevin : Well if you are playing this kind of music for money - might as well quit now.  You can't play this kind of music just for the money you have to do it because you love it.  No matter what you do some people are going to love it or hate it.  It's rare that someone would be in the middle or think its just ok.  The metal community is very passionate about what they like or dont like I persoanlly think that is good thing.  All that really matters is that people cared enough to take the time to check out what you are doing.  Thats really all you can ask for as a musician.  Someone cared enough to check you out and formed an opinion for themselves.  Their reaction to your music is important but in the end that can't be what motivates you it has to be for the love of what you are doing.

Overall, it's time to come to an end now. Hope you enjoyed this interview? Thanks for answering my questions and the time you spend on them. I hope I didn't forget anything? If there's something left to say at the end feel free to use this opportunity now. The last words are yours!
Kevin : Thank you for the time we really appreciate it.  If anyone would like to check out more info on the band please check us out at www.emblazoned666.com.  Thanks again - support Underground Metal!
