Prayed and Betrayed is a five-piece act from Jyväskylä (Finland). It was found in summer 2012. A thought about waking a band like this alive had been in our guitarists minds for a few years already. Panu and Antti had been making songs while searching for other musicians to make the band whole. In July 2012 the roster settled on Jani Tammiainen (Vocals), Antti Lukkari (Guitar), Panu Korhonen (Guitar), Lauri Myllylä (Bass), Juho Suomi (Drums). At the end of the year band recorded a 6 track self-produced EP "Manifesting Reality" (2012) at the SN-audio Studios by Sami Niittykoski. The band started promoting "Manifesting Reality" with live shows.
In June 2013 the band recorded their first single called ”Asylum Of Wanderers”. Soon after the band started to work on brand new material. In the fall of 2013 Lauri decided to leave the band so there was a place open for a new bass player. So by the end of the year they found the man for the job (Otto Puusaari). Prayed And Betrayed found a new singer for upcoming EP (Tatu Hanhikoski) from Jyväskylä in 2014. The band had a few training sessions and was ready for the studio. The band recorded the debut promo "The Abundance of a Sickened Mind" (2014) at the SN-Audio Studios by Teemu Liekkala. "The Abundance of a Sickened Mind" is now available digitally and will be released in physical form in the beginning of July. 01.07.2014. PAB : Hey! We are doing quite fine! Now promoting our new EP and waiting for some upcoming gigs here in Finland.

PAB : As said we are very happy with the reviews and results of our new material and waiting for those live performances to take our music to the stages.
We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule promoting your new album and rehearsing for your tour to take some time out to answer some questions for your fans. What's going on in the PRAYED AND BETRAYED camp these days? Any "sensational and Nice" latest news?
PAB : Nothing too special, just glad to hear positive feedback from fans. We have a new vocalist since the Abundance of a Sickened Mind and did one gig already with him and everything is running smooth.
Now tell us about the concept and story behind this Damnation Piece. The Cool story behind " The Abundance of a Sickened Mind ". The story is cool and Imentioned several influences in my review.
PAB : There's not really any epic story behind this album. But the point of the album was to make solid EP with good songs and good production. We learned lot from our first studio visits and wanted to make much more professional sounding EP, and we think we succeeded. We released a single called Asylum of wanderers in 2013, and it gave bit of a new direction for the band. Inspired by this, we decided to start doing little more melodic music. We had the songs ready and rehearsed but it took us a long time to find a person who is able to pull the vocals on the tape. The goal is to promote our band with this EP and maybe even score a deal with some label)
I wonder how's the interest from the underground Metal media so far? How did the reviews turn out? How many interviews have you answered and how's the response for " The Abundance of a Sickened Mind " from the media and the fans up to now? How long did you orgasm last when the new EP was released?
PAB : Heh, I think we already made clear we're happy with the music and reviews giving us great scores. There's been few interviews and interest towards this band and we've been trying to be as effective as we can to be part of them all. Orgasmic feeling is still on and growing all the time!
An Amazed & excellent album that should be heard. If you really consider yourself a metalhead, give this band a try. and how the process of making this new material? whether all members are involved in every writing music?
PAB : Antti wrote all three songs for this EP but the final form always comes from our rehearsals when everyone comes up with new ideas.
To you, what distinguishes this release with the material you before? what if this is for you a Dynamic form the mature concept from First EP material like " Manifesting Reality " ? In My Opinion, PRAYED AND BETRAYED Musical More Extreme Melodic Death metal with Dark Touching Awesome !
PAB : Haha thanks for the definition. Yeah the bands sound and talent has been growing all the way from the start as it should have. We are not very satisfied to the first EP since we tried to record too many songs in too little time so the result turned a bit worse than we had planned. Also the new EP Abundance a Sickened mind has better songwriting and the pieces are put together without any hurry.
What is the Amazed special Concept Music thing with PRAYED AND BETRAYED? The guitar must be always Excellent and Melodic Progress? How much guitar overdubbing and harmonization do you do in the studio? Is layering a necessity for the PRAYED AND BETRAYED formula to work properly? What is Panu Korhonen & Antti Lukkari who worked all Guitar Riff for all songs PRAYED AND BETRAYED for this besides other members?
PAB : Well actually we have just the two guitars working together without any layering stuff. Also playing live we try to keep the sound clear just straight from the amp without playing with hundred different effects in sound.
The musical approach is certainly ever-changing and pleasingly different. However, I hope you don't mind me saying, your Concept approach on this album is little or Changed than before. aren't always exactly what you'd expect. What was the motivation behind approaching the Changed in such an unusual manner?
PAB : Well the band has gone forth and songwriting and sound has been going to a better direction all the time. So we don't mind the difference between earlier stuff. Just getting better and better and that's the main goal.
I feel a lot more to hear the new album material touch with a lot of sound and concept with Modern style, whether it is the form of Progress Music band since the first EP? and whether the presence of a new vocalist Tatu Hanhikoski, has been widely demanded significant changes this to the band?
PAB : Actually Tatu Hanhikoski was only on this EP. We threw two gigs with him but we part ways soon after. Now our new vocalist Samuli Paananen is doing the job as great as we can hope for.
I'm Very Surprise with Amazing Sound Production for this album, what Is this already a Trademark for PRAYED AND BETRAYED established itself from the beginning? and how PRAYED AND BETRAYED still able to maintain all of this until now? Are You Stay twice Satisfied work with Independent ? What band equipment use while recording process this material ??
PAB : At the moment our musical style is starting to shape to what we want it to be, and we have high quality material out. We are also doing increasing number of touring every year. With all this we are starting to prove our potential. The sound came to it's final form in studio where we used a lot more time than with our earlier EP and it turned out great. It's more suitable for us than the earlier sound.
Please tell something about the lyrics and what they deal with? so it will take a pleasure for the listener to be able to digest their meaning. exactly what you wrote all the lyrics on this matter? How With " The Abundance of a Sickened Mind " mean?
PAB : Lyrics are about worlds problems, political issues and humankinds problems etc. The Abundance of a Sickened Mind stands to whatever a sick thing a sick man with a sick mind can come up with.
A question I like to ask a lot on musicians that follow the underground, is the question on downloading. What would your reaction be if someone told you that he downloaded both your albums and thought they were awesome, and what to someone that told you he bought the albums and thought they were shit?
PAB : Well, the downloading issue is inevitable so it's no use to get pissed off about. And in this stage of our bands history we are glad that people spread our music on internet whether they liked it or not. It helps us to move forth.
